Tip leads to arrest of five and over three pounds of marijuana

gunsDECATUR-The Decatur Police Department’s organized Crime Unit responded to complaints of illegad drugs being sold from213 Bluebird Lane #3.  Here is how the investigation went down:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

During the month of March 2014, Investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit received complaints of large amounts of illegal drugs being sold from 213 Bluebird Lane apartment #3. Investigators began an investigation and were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence.

On March 20, 2014, Investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Special Operations Unit executed the narcotics search warrant at 213 Bluebird Lane apartment #3. When investigators made entry into the residence, they made contact with numerous subjects. Officers also observed a large quantity of high grade marijuana in plain view being packaged for resale. Also, within the subjects immediate reach , was a loaded assault rifle and handgun.

bInvestigators continued the investigation and located more marijuana throughout the residence. The marijuana located cwas approximately over three pounds and had an approximate street value of $13,000.00. Also, located inside the residence was a quantity of Synthetic Canabinoids (Spice) with an approximate street value of $500.00.

Investigators also located numerous drug paraphernalia items throughout the residence consistent with packaging andsales of illegal drugs. A quantity of U.S. currency was located, which was also consistent with selling illegal drugs. The U.S. currency was seized and is pending condemnation procedures.

Demarrius Goode was placed under arrest for Trafficking in Marijuana, Trafficking in Controlled Substance Analogs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Goode was transported to the Decatur City Jail. He was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $10,500 bond.

eDeaudra McDaniel was placed under arrest for Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Pistol. She was transferred to the Decatur City Jail. McDaniel was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $2,500.00 bond.a

Kaleel Hampton was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Loitering. He was transported to the Decatur City Jail in lieu of a $1,000.00 bond.

Robert Nichols was placed under arrest for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Loitering. He was transported to the Decatur City Jail in lieu of a $1,000.00 bond

Karlos Jones was placed under arrest for Loitering. he was transported to the Decatur City Jail in lieu of a $500.00 bond.”
