TANNER-On July 5, 2026, deputies with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 11000 block of Stewart Road in Tanner after receiving a report of an armed robbery.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had connected with a female through the Tinder dating application and arranged to meet at a predetermined location. Upon arriving, the victim was allegedly confronted by a male and female suspect and robbed at gunpoint.
Investigators with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and immediately began processing evidence and interviewing witnesses. Through the course of the investigation, deputies quickly developed information that led them to locate the suspects a short distance from the scene.
Investigators obtained and executed a search warrant at a nearby residence, where they recovered property believed to have been stolen during the robbery, along with a firearm believed to have been used in the commission of the offense.
As a result of the investigation, probable cause was established to arrest James Christopher Toney and Erika Rose Parr. Both were charged with Robbery in the First Degree and Possession of Marijuana. They were transported to the Limestone County Jail, where they are awaiting an initial appearance before a judge. Bond will be set by the court.
Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin commended the teamwork between patrol deputies and investigators that led to the swift arrests.
“This case is an excellent example of the outstanding work our patrol deputies and investigators do every day. Their quick response, attention to detail, and coordinated efforts allowed us to identify and apprehend these suspects in a very short period of time. Violent crimes like this will not be tolerated in Limestone County, and we will continue to aggressively pursue those who threaten the safety of our citizens.”
