Tina Mae Roberson Cox, age 79 passed away September 10, 2013 at her home in Henderson.
She was born and reared in Jackson, TN the daughter of the late Joe and Velma Virginia Sanders Roberson. She attended school in Madison County. She was married to Robert Shelby Cox of Woodville in 1951. They made their home in the Woodville Community of Chester County. Mr. Cox farmed and worked in road construction. Mr. Cox passed away in 1991. Mrs. Cox lived in Chester County most of her life.
Mrs. Cox was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren, sewing and canning vegetables.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Allen Cox of Selmer, Bret Cox of Murfreesboro and Bart Cox of Venice, FL; three daughters, Cynthia Cox of Selmer, Sheila Foster of Selmer and Crystal Matthews of Henderson; twelve grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren and a sister, Carlene Nickles of Wynne, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Shelby Cox in 1991 and a daughter, Lisa Atkins in 2012.
Funeral services will be 6:00 PM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 4:00 PM Thursday until service time at 6:00 PM.
