Tina Jerene Eakes Franklin, 56, of Huntsville, passed away Monday, June 28.
She was member of Life Church Huntsville for many years, and a long time mission partner for Casa Hogar Alfa y Omega orphanage, located in Poza Rica, Mexico.
Tina is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, David Franklin; daughters, Erica Franklin and Nicole Franklin Thompson (Trey); parents, Jerry Eakes Sr. and Faye Eakes; brothers, Jerry Eakes Jr. (Carla) and Sam Eakes (Lori); nieces, Hannah Fox (Morgan) and Kayla Holmes (Jacob); nephews, Noah Eakes (Brianna), Andy Eakes, Zackary Moore (Leslie), and Josh Lewis (Kirby); several great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles. She is preceded in death by her sister, Belinda Eakes; and two brothers, Roger Wade Eakes and John Buford Eakes.
Tina’s visitation will take place on Thursday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. Her funeral service will follow directly after at 12 p.m. with Pastor Kevin McGlamery and Pastor Howard LaFevor officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery, in Decatur, Alabama.
In Tina’s honor, a memorial project is being conducted at Casa Hogar Alfa y Omega Orphanage.
