Timothy “Tim” Wayne Baker, age 65, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, April 08, 2024, at his residence. He was born on June 02, 1958, in Haleyville, Alabama.
Tim worked for several years as owner and operator of Northside Grocery and then several years at Russellville Water & Sewer Department. He was a hardworking man, a loving husband, devoted father, and wonderful grandfather. He adored his two grandchildren, 11 year old Ruby and 8 year old Everett. He enjoyed working on his farm and with his cattle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Garvis “Bud” Lee Baker and mother, Joyce Ledbetter Baker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 44 years, Barbara Dill Baker; son, Nathan Baker (Hilyre) of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Ruby Hayes Baker, William Everett Baker; brothers, Lanny Baker (Vedera), Thomas Baker, Danny Baker (Melissa); father-in-law, William B. Dill; in-laws, Kathy & Greg Masterson, Joy Yates, Johnny & April Dill; and several nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Richard Parker officiating the service.
The pallbearers will be Nathan Baker, Lanny Baker, Thomas Baker, Danny Baker, Gary Parrish, and Greg Masterson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sherry Davis, Grace Gunn, Nakeshia Harris and the staff of Alabama Hospice of the Shoals, and also to Amy Davis for the love and care shown to our family.
