Dale HardenRonald Dale Harden, age 69, resident of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 2:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home.  The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 12:00pm until the 2:00pm service at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dale was born on September 20, 1954, in Blue Island, Illinois, but grew up in Cedar Lake, Indiana. He was the son of the late Henry Houston Harden and the late Tulla Mae Dodson Harden. Dale enjoyed a career as a painter and was of the Baptist faith. In his younger years, he found joy in riding motorbikes. Some of his cherished hobbies included fishing, motorbikes, and trying his luck with scratch-offs. He was an outdoorsman who had a deep appreciation for the mountains and his canine companions. Above all, Dale treasured moments spent with his grandchildren. Known for his likeable nature, he leaves behind fond memories with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Glass; daughter, Nichole (Mark) Barnhart; stepchildren, Monty Rogers, Stacy Rogers, and Vanessa Tidwell; brother, Don Harden; sister, Brenda Greer; ten grandchildren; nephew, Mike;  and many other nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis and his first wife, Kathleen.
