Three Patriots baseball players selected to the ACCC All-North second team

MUSCLE SHOALS & PHIL CAMPBELL – In their first year back competing in the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) since 2011, three Northwest-Shoals Community College Patriots baseball players, Alex Wilson, Caleb Davis, and Taylor Bush, were selected to the All-North Division second-team of the ACCC.

 

The ACCC announced their selections today (5/23) through social media and the ACCC website.

Alex Wilson, of Hoover, Ala., played center field for the Patriots this spring. As a sophomore, Wilson led the team in seven hitting categories, runs, hits, doubles, triples, walks, stolen bases, and on-base percentage. He finished the year with an average of .346, 36 runs batted in, seven home runs, five triples and 30 stolen bases. He was fourth in the ACCC in stolen bases.

 

Caleb Davis, of Loretto, Tenn., played second base for the Patriots this spring. As a freshman, Davis finished the year with an average of .339, 27 runs batted in, and 18 stolen bases. He was second on the team in doubles (10) and runs scored (39).

 

Taylor Bush, of Birmingham, Ala., played catcher and designated hitter for the Patriots this spring. As a freshman, Bush led the team in five hitting categories, doubles, home runs, runs batted in, average, and slugging percentage. He finished the year with an average of .362, 40 runs batted in, and nine home runs. He ranked sixth in the ACCC in home runs.

 

The Patriots finished the season 31-25 and won 15 of their last 19 games.
