DECATUR-Three suspects have been arrested by the Decatur Police Department fro a rash of Breaking and Entering charges. Here is what the Decatur Police have to say about the events leading up to the arrests:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle.
On the early morning of May 20, 2015 the Decatur Police Department received a call from a resident in the 1700 block of Westmead Drive stating that he just observed three suspects inside of his vehicle. Patrol units responded and subsequently took Ryan Embry and Chandler Cooper into custody in the nearby area. Sgt. Clem was called and responded to the scene. A large amount of items were recovered from the suspect vehicle which indicated several vehicles had been broken into.
Both Embry and Cooper were transported to the Decatur Police Department and were interviewed by Sgt. Clem. Sgt. Clem subsequently charged both subjects with three counts each of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. After further investigation two more suspects were located at an address in Trinity. One was identified as Austin Davenport along with a seventeen year old juvenile male. A large amount of stolen property was located at this address.
Davenport and the juvenile were transported to theDecatur Police Department where they were
interviewed by Det. Sparks and Sgt. Clem. Davenport and the juvenile were both charged with three counts each of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle.
The three adults were booked into the Decatur City Jail and transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $7,500.00 bond. The Morgan County Juvenile Probation Office was notified of the juvenile and he was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Tuscumbia.
Due to the large amount of property that has been recovered from multiple vehicles, Sgt. Clem is requesting that anybody who has property missing from their vehicle from the morning of May 20, 2015 to contact him at 256-341-4639. Once the victim describes their property it will be returned to them.”
