Thomas “Tom” W. Curl age 78 formerly of La Marque Texas died peacefully surrounded by family on November 8, 2021. Tom was a graduate of Texas A&M University. While working on is Bachelors degree in accounting. He joined the Merchant Marines. After college he joined the Army and did 2 tours in Vietnam. Once back in civilian life Tom tried a few different career paths, he chose to do security work at the refineries in the Houston area where he worked his way up to Captain. In addition to being the captain of the security team he was also working For H&R Block doing taxes and operating a Bookkeeping and Tax office from home, working with numbers was one of the thing he found joy in right until the end.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Gorbet Curl, parents Thomas Curl and Audrey Allsup Hill, brother James Brice Curl, and grandson Keith Curl.
He leaves behind a brother Smitty M. Hill (Margo) of Nacogdoches, Tx , children Joseph Curl (Julie) of California, David Curl (Kristy) of Prospect, TN, Dawn Ketenbrink (Billy) of Texas City, TX, Danielle Curl of Texas City,TX, Joshua Curl(Veronica) of El Paso, TX and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the cemetery where his ashes will be placed.
