It is with deep sorrow that the family of Thomas “Tom” Thrasher announces his passing on November 13, 2025, in Decatur, Alabama, at the age of 67. Born on July 9, 1958, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Alton Dean and Virginia Nadine Thrasher, Tom lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love.
Tom was a man who embraced every moment. Whether riding his Harley or driving his 18-wheeler, he found joy on the open road. A devoted Alabama football fan, he was always ready with a joke and loved bringing smiles to those around him. Tom deeply cherished his faith, his Stoney River Church family, and Pastor Ted Amey.
Tom is survived by his loving mother, Virginia Nadine; his children, Benjamin (Yami) Thrasher and Amanda Thrasher; his brother, Alton Thrasher; and his nephews, James and Michael. He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Dean Thrasher; his brother, James Thrasher; and his nephew, Robert.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Shelton Funeral Home, with Pastor Ted Amey officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Chapel Cemetery near Danville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Morgan County Humane Society.
