Thomas Todd, 79, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. Thomas was born on September 14, 1943, to Q.T. and Mary Todd. On November 25, 1965, he married Bonnie Fleming. He served in the Mississippi National Guard. Thomas was a State Champion and World Champion Trap Shooter, who loved to hunt, fish, and garden, especially his tomatoes. He served as Mayor of Ecru for 18 years, worked at Hoover Inc for 25 years, and owned and operated Q.T. Todd Construction. Thomas was on the board for Mississippi Road Builder Association, State Delegate for Mississippi Trap Shooting Association, and a Mason and member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
Thomas is survived by his son, Gable Todd (Barbara); his daughter, Tabatha Todd Dearman; his 4 grandchildren, Caleb Todd (Meri Claire), Lauren Myhand (Jastan), Jade Whitlow (Chad), and Chyna-Rae Price (Robert); 3 great-grandchildren, Eli Whitlow, Hallie Rae Myhand, and Annie Jade Myhand.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his sister, Mona Faye Davis.
Services will be Friday, June 30, 2023, at 2PM at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Davis and Bro. Mike Reeves officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 29th 5-8PM at Friendship Baptist Church and Friday, June 30th 12PM until service time. Burial will follow in Ecru Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Tracy and Neal Davis, Shane Turk, Stephen and Patrick McBrayer, Gerald Bogue, Steve Wallace, ang Gage Davis.
Memorial funds may be sent to Friendship Baptist Church Youth Group.
