Thomas “Thunder” Nelson, 73, of Elkmont, passed away on Thursday, January 27th, 2022, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mr. Nelson was born on August 3rd, 1948, to Eldon Leander and Violet Elizabeth Nelson.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Susan Ball Nelson of Elkmont, AL; Kerri Truett (Jason) of Elkmont, AL; grandsons Brayden Truett and William Truett; and sisters Barbara Nelson of Elkmont, AL and Carolyn Nelson of Elkmont, AL.
Preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Edward Nelson and James Nelson.
Funeral services for Mr. Nelson will be Monday, January 31st, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Mike Richardson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 30th, 2022, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Nelson was a member of the of O’Neal Church of Christ.
