Thomas Spencer “Tommy” Stanphill – Obituary

Thomas Spencer “Tommy” Stanphill, 67, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at his home. He was born May 28, 1948, to Dock Lawson and Bessie Forrester Stanphill. He retired as a conductor with Union-Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Horn Lake. He enjoyed gardening, working outside, and collecting pocket knives and pocket watches.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Daniel Stanphill and Bro. Jeff Lentz officiating. Burial will be in the Bounds Cemetery north of Tremont.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary H. Stanphill; one son, Daniel Spencer Stanphill (Anna) of Hernando; and three sisters, Margaret Parker and Lillian Turner, both of Tremont, and Donna Duncan of Southaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Billy Parker, Greg Stanphill, Chris Stanphill, and Donnie Sartin.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
