Thomas “Sonny” Cary Fanning, age 79 of Harvest passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019.
He is survived by his wife Janice Elaine Fanning; 1 stepson Barry Bentley; 1 stepdaughter Virginia Holden; 1 brother Roy Fanning; two sisters Carolyn Seymoure and Barbara Hartley; two grandchildren Nick Holden and Breanna Holden; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by 1 stepson Dwayne Hollis and his parents Leo and Johnnie P. Fanning.
He was a native and lifelong resident of the Huntsville area, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War.
There will be a Memorial service on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Locust Grove Baptist Church in New Market officiated by Dr. Robert White, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Thomas :Sonny” Fanning Memorial Fund at Redstone Federal Credit Union.
