Thomas “Sonny” Alonzia Locklayer, 75, formerly of Hillsboro, entered into heavenly glory with Jesus on Jan. 5, 2016 at Vistas Hospice Center in Stafford, New Jersey. His funeral will be Friday Jan. 8, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Christian Church in Hillsboro with Jackson Memory Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Locklayer Cemetery.
On July 15, 1940, Thomas was born the second child of seven and first son of the late Robert Locklayer Jr. and the late Lillie Mae Locklayer at their home in the Fishpond community of Hillsboro.
Sonny, a devoted and loved father, grandfather, brother and uncle was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Naomi Locklayer and Ruth Locklayer Gray. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Pamela Locklayer with her children, Christina, Shawntella, Brandon, Amber, Jaxon and Izayah, all of Arizona; one son, Thomas “JR” Alonzia Locklayer Jr., his wife, Tracey and their children, Thomas III “RJ” and Gabriella of New Jersey; three brothers, David Locklayer (Ollie Mae), Hillman Locklayer Sr. (Mattie) and Robert Locklayer III; two sisters, Avis Bridgeforth (Bill) and Linda Watkins (Andrew); and one step-sister, Margie Perkins.
