Funeral services for Thomas O. Hill, age 81 of Lineville, will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Kevin Acre and Bro. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens with Masonic Rites.
Mr. Hill passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Clay County Nursing home. A former resident of Muscadine, he has spent the last 17 years in Clay County. After graduating from Lineville High School in 1956, he decided to join the Navy. Later he worked for Tallapoosa Rubber until his retirement. Mr. Hill was a member of the Masonic Lodge #219 F&AM with a 50 year pin.
He is survived by his daughter, Terri Sanders (Gene) of Lineville; his step-son, Thomas Doyle Cash (Peggy) of Maryland; his sister, Dorothy Mae Newman of Reeltown; one brother, John Daniel Hill (Deborah) of South Carolina (Beach Island); eight grandchildren: Brandi Holloway (Keith), Kyle Simons (Sommer), Emily Aldrege (Tracy), Stormie Sanders, Nicole Sanders, Jordan Sanders, Hannah Cash, and Amanda Cash; five great-grandchildren: Aidan Johnson, Lillian Duffie, Kaleigh Herren (Mathew), Kevin Baker, and Charlee Holloway.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otha Kaylor Hill and Kythia Mae Hendrix Hill; his wife of 31 years, Orbie C. Hill; and his brother, James Austin Hill.
Active pallbearers will be Tommy Holloway , Dontae Zackery, Chandler Milstead, Dakota Knight, Kevin Baker and Jacob Cofield.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Holloway, Kyle Simons, Gene Sanders, Chuck Milstead and Jason Boyd.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
