Thomas Nix Mansell, 81, of Killen, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at ECM Hospital. He was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ, IBEW, Masonic Lodge No. 14 of Florence, Order of Eastern Star, and the Cahaba Shrine.
Visitation will be Friday, September 7, 2012 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be Sonny Owens.
Mr. Mansell was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Minnie Mansell; wife, Mary Ethel Mansell; daughter, Audrey Lee Mansell.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Peeden Mansell; daughters, Donna Jeanne Hunter of Camden, SC, Pamela Anne Warnock of Arab, AL, Debra Lynn Eck of Chelsea, AL; step-daughter, Lori L. Rainey of Killen; step-son, Derek A. Daniel of Tuscumbia; brother, Samuel T. Mansell of Killen; sister, Carolyn Maude Cutshall of Iuka, MS; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Eck, Matt Eck, James Young, Greg Peeden, Joel Peeden, and Tyler Cornell.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Hunter and Buck Warnock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Eastwood Church of Christ, 102 North Leland Drive, Florence, AL 35630 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
