Thomas Michael Neubauer – Obituary

Thomas Michael Neubauer 74, of Cherokee Ridge, passed away Saturday March 16, 2019. Mike was born in Kansas City, Mo. October 4th 1944. He attended the University of Missouri before serving as a Captain in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. After his military service he completed his degree at Central Missouri State. Mike was a Sales and Marketing Executive in the medical field for most of his career.

Mike was an avid golfer, voracious reader, sports enthusiast and loved his neighborhood. Especially dear to his heart was his dog Charlie, and they were often seen walking together. He and his wife Joan were among the very first residents of Cherokee Ridge. After transferring to St. Louis for over 10 years, they had recently returned to make the neighborhood their home once again. They said it felt like they had never left. Mike rejoined the “Low Rollers” on the golf course, Wine Society, and became a fixture again at most every Cherokee Ridge event.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Joan Norcross Neubauer, his son James Michael Neubauer of Sarasota Fl, his brother Fred Wilkinson and wife Linda of Independence Mo, and niece and nephews, Leslie, Logan and Levi.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 6th at 5:00 PM at the Cherokee Ridge Lake House. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting the family. According to his wishes, memorials in Mike’s name may be made to the American Lung Association.

I’m looking for a fellow officer in the Army. He and I were stationed in Germany. I’m wondering if this is him? We were both stationed in Schweinfurt, W. Germany with the 1st Bn, 10th Field Artillery.
