Thomas Lee Rogers Sr. – Obituary

Thomas Lee Rogers Sr., 67, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Franklin County, Alabama to K.T. and Zella Mitchell Rogers. He was a carpenter for 40 years. He taught building construction at Vo-Tech at Belgreen High School for 17 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Atwood Baptist Church.
Services will be Sunday, Sept. 20, at 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Alabama, with Brother Jerry Edgil and Brother Marty Guidry officiating. Burial will be in Old Line Cemetery, Hodges, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Glenda Rogers, Hodges, Al.; two children, Amanda Oliver (Tim) Hodges, Alabama, and T.J. Rogers, Booneville, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Austin Oliver, Allison Oliver, Jessie Oliver, ShelbyAnna Oliver, and Carley Tedford; two sisters, Agnes McKinney, Red Bay, Alabama, and Carolyn Medley (Roy), Russellville, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jimmy Carlton Rogers, and one sister, Margaret Sanders.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitation will be today, 5-9 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, and Sunday, Sept. 20, 9 a.m. until service time.
