Thomas Lee McCorkle, 74, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence.
Tommy was a native of the Shoals. He retired from AT&T at age 49 after a 30-year career highlighted by serving as the AT&T liaison during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Lovingly known as “Papa Bear” to his five grandchildren, Tommy spent his retirement years visiting family and longtime friends. As a member of Wood Avenue Church of Christ, Tommy was deeply committed to his faith and mission work throughout his life.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann McCorkle; children, Angela Leigh Wilson, Nathan Thomas McCorkle (Brittany), and Lori Dianne McCorkle; sister, Brenda Peters; grandchildren, Collins Isabelle McCorkle, Lila Chase Wilson, Caroline Leigh McCorkle, Cannon Dianne McCorkle, and Rylan Thomas McCorkle; and several dear nieces and nephews.
