OI375082266_ThomasHowardFranklinObitPicThomas Howard “Cap” Franklin passed away on Friday, December 25th, 2015. Howard was born August 4, 1926 in Westpoint, TN. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a lifelong farmer, employed by Slant and Slant, TVA, and H. B. Brink. He was a Christian, of the Baptist faith, and a member of OK Baptist Church. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed baseball, hunting, gardening and most of all, his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Beulah McLean Franklin; and one sister, Helen McLain.

He is survived by

Hazel Sharpton Franklin, Lawrenceburg, TN

Brother In Law –
W. J. McLain, Westpoint, TN

Two Sons,
Jeff Franklin, Lawrenceburg, TN
Ricky Franklin (Janice), Lawrenceburg, TN

Two Grandchildren –
Chad Franklin (Cindy), Lawrenceburg, TN
Amie Owens (Scott), Lawrenceburg, TN

Five Great Grandchildren –
Brady, Jacy, and Gentry Franklin, Lawrenceburg, TN
Kate and Emily Owens, Lawrenceburg, TN

Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2015 at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at John Lay Cemetery with full military honors at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2015, with Bryan Camp and Chad Franklin officiating. Family suggests memorials be made to OK Baptist Church or the OK Cemetery Fund.
