Thomas Henry Moyers – Obituary

Thomas Henry Moyers, age 85, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee passed away April 27 after a brief illness with his family at his side.

Thomas graduated from Blanche High School in Lincoln County in 1950. Following graduation he served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. He furthered his education at David Lipscomb University where he received a B.S. Degree in Business Management. Thomas was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company. He later worked in the fields of Insurance Adjusting and Grocery Merchandising. Thomas was an active member of Signal Mountain Church of Christ and worshiped with the congregation for over 40 years.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Marie Williams Moyers, he is survived by his son Marcus Henry (Kristy) Moyers of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Ben and Gabriella Marie; sisters, Irene Thompson and Eveline (Jimmy) Swinford; brothers, Richard (Pat) Moyers; sister-in-law, Margie Moyers, all of Fayetteville. Sister-in-law, Jo Anne Williams (Gerald) Levan of Signal Mountain; and brother-in-law, Robert Lewis (Wanda) Williams of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter Farris Moyers and Marie Key Moyers; brothers James and Jesse Moyers and sister, Janice Diane Moyers.

Graveside services will be conducted by the family Saturday April 29that 11 A.M. at Riverview Memorial Gardens cemetery in Fayetteville, TN. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Moyers-Williams Scholarship Fund Boyd Buchanan School, 4650 Buccaneer Trail, Chattanooga, TN 37411.
