Mr. Thomas Harry (Tom Cat) Mitchell Jr. was born in Florence Al. on May 22, 1962 to his parents the late Mr. Thomas Harry Mitchell Sr. and Mrs. Barbara D. Pigg Mitchell. He was raised in the Wayne County area and always possessed an affinity for repairing automobiles, especially hot rod and vintage cars. His occupational years were spent working with lumber in the sawmill industry as a lumber grader until his health could no longer support his strong work ethic. He could be considered a simple man enjoying the little pleasures in life. Spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, listening to music and just loving life, would describe the character of a man’s life lived simply but lived well. Mr. Thomas Harry (Tom Cat) Michell Jr. passed from this life on November 06, 2025 in Columbia, TN making his stay on this earth some 63 years and 5 months.
Those left to honor his memory include his children Thomas Mitchell III wife Christell of Perry County, TN Joshua Mitchell wife Holly of Waynesboro, TN Justin E. Mitchell wife Jacquline of Knoxville, TN Andrew T. Mitchell of Waynesboro, TN Kelsey B. Mitchell and Colby R. Mitchell both of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren Shelby Risner Body, Chloe Grace Mtchell, Joshua Cameron Mitchell, Kaydence Mitchell, Kaizer Mitchell, Emery Mitchell, Cooper Mitchell, Isabella Mitchell, Nevaeh Mitchell, Octavia Mitchell, Katalia Mitchell, Camila Mitchell Levi Mitchell and Gracelyn Mitchell; great grandchildren Everliegh Kaye Mitchell and Liam Holt
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Doug Mitchell Sr. and sister Debra McElderry
Funeral Services will be held Sunday November 09, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC chapel with Danny Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the family will begin Friday November 07, 2025 beginning at 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm, on Saturday November 08 beginning from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm and again on Sunday November 09, 2025 beginning at 8:30 am till 10:00 am service time.
