Thomas Glenn “Tommy” Culver – Obituary

Thomas Glenn “Tommy” Culver passed to his heavenly home on April 20, 2016. Born July 15, 1927 to TA Culver and Nona Lee Wynfrey Culver. Graduated from Falkville High School and after serving with the U.S. Navy, returned to Decatur and married Martha L. Yates and took over the management and ownership of the family business, Culver Cleaners, until 1986 when he retired. He continued to enjoy his hobbies of bowling and working in the yard.
Mr. Culver was a member of Central Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Lahoma Culver; wife, Martha Culver; sister, Ann Whitley. Survived by his three children, Becky Weaver, Susan Blackwood (Ronnie) and Tom Culver (Mindi); five grandchildren, Layne Pointer (Lynn), Kelli Lowery (Craig), Emily Hayes (Chris), Cassie Culver and Chandler Culver (Chelsea); six great-grandchildren, Hayden, Samuel, Jon Hayes, Maddie, Jayden and Aubrie.
Funeral will be today, April 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with Dr. Rob Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the funeral. Pallbearers will be Chandler Culver, Lynn Pointer, Craig Lowery, Chris Hayes, Samuel Lowery, Jon Lowery, Jayden Culver, Rex Weaver and Mike Hayes. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
