Elder Thomas Glen Brown Elder Thomas Glen Brown was born on January 20, 1958. He was adopted by the late James and Minnie Brown of Gulfport, MS.

After a brief illness, Thomas left this life for eternal rest on May 8, 2024, at 9:06 a.m. at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL.

Thomas accepted Christ at an early age at St. James Baptist Church in Gulfport, MS. He was a faithful Elder at Shekinah Glory Remnant Ministry, 700 Washington St., Huntsville, AL.

He graduated from Harrison Central High School in Gulfport, MS in 1976. Thomas went on to pursue higher education at Calhoun Community College, where he graduated Magna Cum Lada with an associate degree in business administration. He later attended Athens State University in Athens, AL where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

After graduating high school, Thomas joined the United States Air Force and served Honorably for four years. He also served Honorably in the United States Army for over 15 years. Staff Sergeant Brown received numerous awards to include Army Commendation Medal (2nd award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), Army Good Conduct Medal (4th award), and Noncommissioned Officer’s Ribbon. Staff Sergeant Brown was notable as an expert marksman.

He met and fell in love with Monaque Lisa Brown. They were joined in holy matrimony and this union of 24 years was only interrupted by his death. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grand daughter. His interests included living for Jesus, spoiling his wife, mentoring young people in spiritual guidance, traveling, cooking, grilling, and helping anyone in need.

After retiring from the military, Thomas was employed by the Department of Defense, Program Executive Office (PEO) & Aviation as a Program Integrator for over 14 years.

Elder Brown loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his biological and adopted parents; two sisters, Doris, and Joyce Pope; two brothers; George Pope, Jr., and Willie Pope.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Pastor Monaque Lisa Brown, one daughter; Chiquita (Tyrone) Holley of Meridianville, AL; six sons; Thomas (Jessica) Torrell Brown of Waukon, IA, Keiane Chavez Brown of Huntsville, AL; Kenneth Cope of Huntsville, AL; Roderick Howard of Kuwait; William Howard, Jr. of Dallas, TX; Kelvin Howard of Huntsville, AL; 16 grandchildren; and one great-daughter; two sisters, Vanessa (Alfonzo) Williams of Mobile, AL and Mary Pope of Landson, SC; three brothers, Jeff (Tammy) and Lewis Pope all of Biloxi, MS and Leonard (Tommie Jean) of Landson, SC; six sisters-in-law; Valerie Owens of Detriot, MI, Heather Bogarty of Jacksonville, FL, Michelle Burt of Tallassee, FL, Rainda Ruth of Huntsville, AL, Dawlyn Showers of Cleveland, OH, and Sharon Zeller of Dayton, OH; one God-daughter, LaShay McGinney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

The funeral service for Elder Thomas Glen Brown 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Bicentennial Chapel on Redstone Arsenal (Goss Road Bldg 376 Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898) with Apostle Ron Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL at 11:45 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2024. Elder Brown will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

The Brown family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories.

Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
