A beloved husband, grandfather and friend.Thomas G. Colston known to family and friends, who loved him as “Big Tommy” died peacefully at Veterans Hospital in Nashville surrounded by his family. Tommy was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County, TN and veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a retired over-the-road truck driver which took him all over the country. Tommy was 65 years old and was married to Jean for 44 loved filled years. He loved football, both playing and watching and was die-hard Tennessee football fan.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Lena Colston and infant grandson, DeShay Colston.
He is survived by his wife; Jean Miller Colston; sons, Tommy “Little Tommy” Colston, Terry (Tabitha) Colston: three grandsons, Taran and Trevon Colston and Jonathan (Jay) Meadows- Colston, all of Ardmore. Tommy is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Becker and Catherine Williams, Both of Jasper, one loving aunt, Gladys Colston Shannon of Ardmore, TN, and a number of neices and nephews. Tommy will also be terribly missed by his friend and football watching buddy, Mike Becker and a host of sisters- and brothers- in- laws.
A Graveside Service will be Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 1:00 P.M. at Gatlin Cemetery, with Bro. Buddy Payne officiating. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be in charge of handling the arrangements.
