Tommy Strevel Profile PhotoThomas Gene Strevel, Jr., 69, passed away on March 9, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus.  He was born in Aberdeen on July 13, 1954 to the late Thomas Gene Strevel, SR. and Mary Opal Bruff Strevel.  Tommy attended Aberdeen School.  He worked many years for their family business, Strevel and Sons.  Tommy married Jo Ann Busby on December 28, 1998.  He enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting, fishing, working in his yard, mowing and being on his tractor bush hogging.  He also loved to work on things and often said the only thing he couldn’t fix was a broken heart.  Tommy dearly loved his wife, his children and grandchildren.  He had a deep faith in God and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Strevel, Aberdeen; children, Bryan Strevel (Carla), Cullman, AL, David Strevel (Sonja), Pontotoc, Jerry Strevel, Hamilton and Susan Hogan (Chase), Ocean Springs; sister, Faith Ann Ward (John), Becker; brother, Paul Strevel, Becker; grandchildren, Christopher Strevel, Hunter Strevel, Jake Strevel, Cara Strevel, Summer Strevel, Gage Strevel, Cade Strevel, Nora Strevel, Megan Strevel, Hayden Strevel, Brayden Brown, Brianna Hogan and Blake Hogan; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by a brother, Barry Strevel and a nephew, Justin Strevel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Charles Petty and Bro. Bill Hale officiating.  A private family graveside service will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bryan Strevel, John Strevel, Hunter Strevel, Christopher Strevel, David Strevel and Lynn Crump.  John Ward and Paul Strevel will serve as a honorary pallbearer’s.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 10 AM until 10:45 AM.
