Thomas BeeThomas Edward “Tommy” Bee, 58, of Muscle Shoals, entered his heavenly home Monday December 2nd, 2013, after a brief illness.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at South Highland Free Will Baptist Church (SHFWBC) in Muscle Shoals. The funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens in Tuscumbia. His son, Bro. Scott Bee, Bro. Shiloh Hackett, Pastor of SHFWBC, Bro. Hoover Lewis, and Bro. David Thomas will be officiating.
Tommy is survived by his devoted wife Barbara. Their 38th wedding anniversary would have been December 12th. He is also survived by his son Scott Bee and wife Amy, of Decatur, IL, and daughter, Laura Everett and husband Justin, currently serving in the USAF; grandchildren, Cameron, Preston, Emily, Savannah, Ava, and Brody; his mother, Stella Bee; brothers, Charlie Bee (Debbie), O’Neal Bee (Helen), Britt Bee (Deanna), Danny Bee (Vicki), and sister, Donna Swackhamer Bee (Greg). There are also family and friends without number whose lives have been enriched by him and who will treasure his memory.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles Bee, grandparents Charles and Irene Bee, Clarence and Vernon Belew. Also, his father and mother in law; Wallie and Earline Zills, brothers in law; David Zills and Buddy Balentine, and niece Bonnie Marie Zills.
Tommy received Christ at youth camp in 1975, and faithfully served Him for 38 years in many capacities including: Deacon, Adult S.S. teacher, music director, coach of the men’s softball team, and endless hours serving behind the scenes. He was dedicated to his Lord, his family and his church.
He retired in 2000 after 25 years with the Lowes Corporation, and recently returned to work at Discount Dan’s Home Center.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Bee, O’Neal Bee, Britt Bee, Danny Bee, Buddy Troutt, Paul Liles, Ron Watson, and Adell Stepp.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Sidney Jackson, Ted Everett, and men of the Adult S.S. Class.
Colbert Memorial Chapel, Tuscumbia is directing.
