Thomas Edward Haynes – Obituary

Thoms 2 Thomas Edward Haynes, 86, a native of Waterloo, AL and a resident of Lauderdale County, passed away February 25, 2013 at E.C.M. Hospital. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church for 61 years, served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the Pacific Theater, a member of Post #11 American Legion, served on the Edith Newman Culver Museum board of directors in Waterloo, and was an honorary member of the graduating Class of 2009 at Waterloo High School.

 

Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2013 from 11 – 1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Chris Underwood. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

 

Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Barry Haynes; parents, Bartley Alexander and Della Maude Balentine Haynes; six brothers; one sister.

 

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Hughes Haynes; daughter, Donna Rogers (Kenny); daughter-in-law, Harriet Haynes; sisters, Helen Wilson, Betty Dewberry, Frances Gifford; grandchildren, Amy Rogers, Brian Rogers (Angela), Chris Rogers (Tonya), Holly Mann (Wes), and Scott Haynes.

 

Active pallbearers will be Scott Haynes, Brian Rogers, Chris Rogers, Brad Haddock, Wade Haddock, Jeffrey Gifford.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Rogers, Jim Wilson, Russell Haddock and Paul Dolan.
