Thomas Earl Pentecost, age 86, of Southside, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 08, 2021. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 2:00pm at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Rev. Bill Drummon will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.

Thomas attended Southside High School. He married in 1954, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served with the Airborne Division. He retired from farming in 1976 and became a truck driver. He retired from Modern Suburban Gas. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting with his friends from the VFW. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Shelbie Ann Pentecost; parents, William Earnest and Nannie Mae Pentecost; 3 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Survivors include son, Thomas L. (Myra) Pentecost; daughters, Annette (Steve) Turner, and Tina (Paul) Cody; grandchildren, Logan Pentecost, Nolan Pentecost, Shannon (and finance Keith Richardson) Dalrymple, Kelly Cody, and Daniel Cody; great grandson, Andrew Dalrymple; brothers Pete Pentecost, and Hugh Pentecost; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Pentecost, Paul Cody, Phillip Sitz, Randy Sitz, Alan Wolfe, Logan Pentecost, Nolan Pentecost, and Daniel Cody.

Honorary Pallbearers will be his friends from the VFW.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, March, 11, 2021 from 12:30-1:30pm prior to the service.
