  Thomas Berry Hornal Profile PhotoThomas Berry Hornal, age 85, a resident of Flatwoods, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 30, 2025 at North Highland Church of Christ in Waynesboro, TN at 11:00AM, with pastors Rod Littrell and Bobby Carroll officiating.

Born on August 5, 1940, in Nashville, Tennessee, Thomas was the son of the late Samuel David Hornal and the late Mary Margaret Singleton Hornal. He shared sixty-five years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda Raines Hornal. For many years, he worked as a welder with Fisher & Co. in Linden. He was a member of Pineview Church of Christ, as well attended North Highland Church of Christ and a member of the Masonic Lodge #210 in Linden.

A true jack of all trades, Thomas was especially gifted in carpentry. He enjoyed fishing, making jewelry, and caring for his yard. Known for his servant’s heart, he found great purpose in helping others whenever he could.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Thomas Bryant (Leslie) Hornal of Waynesboro, daughter, Pam (Mike) Carroll of Flatwoods, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Alexander Hornal, Paul David Hornal, and sister, Jane Ann Pinson.

The family will celebrate his life with a service at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
