Thomas Austin Holt was born April 17, 1935, in Cypress Inn, Tennessee the son of the late Arthur and Belle Bevis Holt. He married Emanola Horton on Sept. 3, 1955. Mr. Holt was retired from Sarah Lee Foods and was a member of the Mt. Hope Church of Christ, Lutts, Tennessee and served in the United States Army. He departed this life Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at ECM Hospital, Florence, Alabama, at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and three days. Survivors include wife, Emanola Holt, Cypress Inn, Tennessee; sons, Anthony Holt, wife Lane, Florence, Alabama, and Timothy Holt, wife Betsy, Arab, Alabama; daughter, Terina Roberson, husband Tracy, Florence, Alabama; grandchildren, Tiea Hester, husband Will, TrayLe Roberson, fiance CJ Perry, Lindsey Love, husband Randall, Christopher and Austin Holt, and Allen Holt; great-grandchildren, Selina and Willow Hester; sisters, Fay Gallian, Waynesboro, Tennessee, and Augie Bea Wright, husband Olin, Florence, Alabama; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by brothers, James and Leroy Holt, and sister, Mauveline Scoobey.
Services will held today at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Justin Roberson and Mike Andrews officiating. Burial, with military rites, will follow in the Pigg/Hilltop Cemetery, Cypress Inn, Tennessee, with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Christopher, Austin and Allen Holt, Will Hester, Randall Love, and CJ Perry. Visitation will be two hours before the services at the funeral home.
