Thomas Albert Flatt, age 86, passed away October 8, 2021 at his home in Parsons.
He was born in Milledgeville, TN the son of the late Leonard Andrew and Lois Presley Flatt. He worked in the fields as a young man and also worked at a lumber company in Selmer.
He married Jessie Jeannette Austin in 1970 and they made their home in Chester County, Lexington, and then Parsons. He worked in factories, but his major occupation was in construction. He retired in 2005 and continued to help John in farming and re-construction.
He loved to dance: square dance, line dance, and slow dance.
He is survived by his two sons, Edward Flatt and Danny Joe Flatt both of Selmer; five daughters, Jody Flatt (John Turner) of Parsons, Marie Douglas of Finger, Tammy Pusser of Montezuma, Judy Hill of Lexington, and Dianne Wilson of Beech Bluff; five brothers, James Ray Flatt, Lee Flatt, Roy Flatt, Glen Flatt, and Johnny Flatt; four sisters, Sue Rowland, Dee Vandiver, Lillian Hatch, and Maudie Moody; twenty five grandchildren and sixty great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; four sons, Junior Flatt, Terry Rowland, Donald Rowland, and Dale Rowland; a daughter, Susie Rogers; a brother, Robert Earl Flatt; and a sister, Betty Johnson.
