Thomas Aaron Glover was born November 8, 1941, in Brownsville, Tennessee, the son of the late Richard Allen and Hazel Doyle Glover. He departed this life on September 18, 2026, in Henderson, Tennessee, at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 10 days.
Thomas was united in marriage to his dear wife, Judy Ledbetter, on August 18, 1962. Together they shared 59 years of marriage until her passing on February 25, 2021. Judy suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for nearly twelve years, and Thomas lovingly cared for her in their home throughout her illness. His devotion to his wife was a beautiful reflection of the depth of his love and commitment to his family.
Thomas retired from a printing company in Memphis, Tennessee, and later drove for several trucking companies. His final place of employment was the Co-op in Selmer, Tennessee. He resigned from that position so that he could devote his time to caring for Judy.
Thomas was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and also attended Finger Baptist Church, where his son-in-law, Scott, serves as pastor. His faith and his family were important parts of his life.
A man who was happiest when his hands were busy, Thomas was an avid woodworker and a gifted craftsman. He built countless things for his family and friends, putting his time, talent, and love into everything he created. Whether he was building something new, repairing what was broken, or finding a way to make something better, Thomas was always working with his hands. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing and had a special love for his dogs and cats.
Thomas will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, a faithful friend, and a man who showed his love not only through his words, but through everything he did for those around him. His greatest legacy is found in the family he cherished, the lives he touched, and the many things he built with his own hands that will continue to remind his loved ones of him.
He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Glover Stout and husband Scott of Finger, Tennessee; three grandchildren, April Parker and husband Patrick, Scotty Stout, and Nathan Stout and wife Tess; eight great-grandchildren, Sayla Geiser, Pax Parker, Pepper Parker, Emery Lynn Stout, Houston Stout, Hunter Stout, Jack Stout, and Goldie Rose Stout; sister-in-law, Rachel Glover; nephews, Mike Glover and Steve Glover; and nieces, Alaina Glover and Pam Glover. Thomas was preceded in death by two brothers, Aubrey and John Glover.
Though his family will deeply miss his presence, they can take comfort in knowing that the hands that spent a lifetime caring for others, building, fixing, and creating are now at rest. The love Thomas gave so freely will live on through his family, his memories, and the many lives he touched.
