FLORENCE-The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library is kicking off the Holiday season with a little something for everyone:
Check off names from your gift list!
The Friends of the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Bookstore is having a half-price sale starting Friday and continuing until Sunday, Dec. 12. Sales revenue go to fund programming for young children, teens and adults at the public library. All items with the exception of handmade bookmarks will be half-price.
This is a family event the entire community will enjoy!
Our first Holiday Bike Parade was so much fun last year, and we’re excited to continue this holiday event! Our sponsors this year are Keelan Walker Photography, Lancaster’s Storybook Acres, Shell’s Christmas Tree Farm, Shoals Symphony, and Huntsville Museum of Art. Come out Saturday and support our riders as they parade on their holiday-themed, decorated bikes. Buddy the Elf will be there, too!
Have you seen the latest video posted by our Local History department?
We celebrated not just Veterans Day, but veterans month in November by highlighting the “first hero of WWI,” Homer Givens, a Florence native who was celebrated not just in the United States, but in France. See the video on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/FLPLibrary/videos/434809581353023
