Theron Andrew Tanner, age 55, beloved son of Roger Tanner and Linda Myers and stepson of Louise Tanner, passed away suddenly the night of Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Shields Nursing Center in Richmond, CA, where he was receiving care for Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Portland, OR, and graduated from high school and college (SUNY Stony Brook) on Long Island, NY. He was a resident of the Bay Area of California for the last 30-plus years where he earned a Master’s degree at Cal State Hayward, and a PhD in early childhood development at UC Santa Barbara.
He is survived by his father, mother and stepmother, two half-brothers and three half-sisters, as well as his son, Seth Tanner, a student at Cal State Monterey.
He was cremated in Richmond, CA, and a memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 8, 2025, in El Cerrito, CA.
