Mr. Therman Mayberry, 95, of Sumiton, passed away April 16, 2026. Funeral services will be held at New Horizon Chapel, Monday, April 20, 2026, at 11 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time. Burial will follow in McCormack Cemetery.
He was a U. S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Walke (DD-723) during the Korean Conflict. The USS Walke earned four battle stars during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired steelworker and member of United Steelworkers of America Local No. 1466, Bessemer, Alabama. Pastors Steton Hayes and Ronnie Johnson will officiate.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertie Matheny Mayberry, and his second wife, Helen Roberts
Mayberry; and his brothers, John Thomas Mayberry and Terry Joe Mayberry.
Survivors include his son, William Jeffery Mayberry, and sister, Ruth Ann Mayberry; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
