Theresa “Lynn” Jernigan, age 61 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at TriStar Centennial Hospital in Nashville. A native of Franklin County, she was born on April 16, 1964, in Winchester to William “Bill” T. Sisk Jr and the late Linda Ann (Snell) Sisk. After twenty-five years of service, Lynn retired from the Franklin County Board of Education, where she had been employed as a secretary in the Special Education Department. When she was able, she enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, and reading. Most of all, Lynn cherished the time spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. Her caring and loving nature and kind heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Lynn was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Decherd and most recently attended Little Hurricane Baptist Church in Winchester. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Ed Jernigan; father, Bill Sisk; children, Chasity (Russell) Green, Courtney (Mark) Winland, and Cody (Taylor) Jernigan; grandchildren, Beckett Green, Cooper Green, Jordan Winland, Myers Jernigan, and on the way, Weston Jernigan; brother, Gary (Annette) Sisk; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
