Thelma Sue Baker Darnell, age 82 of Manchester, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation Center in McMinnville. Sue was born on December 25, 1942, in Winchester to the late Edgar Isaac and Alma (Phar) Anderson. Before her retirement, she had been employed as a seamstress at PCA Clothing in Manchester for forty years. She enjoyed spending time working in her flowers, especially her roses, and was known for her wonderful cooking and baking skills with everyone loving her fried pies. But most of all, Sue cherished the time spent with her beloved family and friends. A loving mother, she passed down to her children the value of being a hard worker, as she had grown up on a farm with her siblings, as well as the ability to look at things with a positive and cheerful attitude. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Willis Anderson; brothers, Pleasy Anderson, and Edward Anderson; sister, Dolli Mae Anderson; husbands, Bill Pearson, Kenneth Ray Baker, and William “Bud” Darnell; sons, Ray Baker and Timmy Baker; and grandson, Timmy Porter. Sue is survived by her loving children, Charlotte (Malachie) Ringlieb, Rebecca (Tim) McNeese, Jennifer Frazier, Samantha (Johnny Ray) Porter, Bobby (Tracy) Baker, and Buddy Baker; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (April) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
