Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Roberson Davis, age 70 of Ashland, will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bradley McVay and Rev. Jason Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Davis passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Lineville Health & Rehab. A lifelong resident of Clay County, Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Bibb Graves High School class of 1967. She worked in healthcare as a nurse’s aide and also as a teacher and bus driver at the McKinney Learning Center until her retirement. She was a breast cancer survivor, and was five years cancer free. She was also a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Davis (Tammy) of Bluff Springs; her daughter, Wendy Davis of Dadeville; two grandchildren: Joey Johnson and Brittany Smith (James); great-grandchildren: Brylee and Bryndon Smith; her sister, Velma Nappier of Ashland; and her brother, Jasper Roberson (Ruby Clyde) of Bluff Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jasper Slaughter Roberson and Dillie Gay East; and her daughter-in-law, Sandra Davis.

Active Pallbearers will be: Donald Roberson, Wade Roberson, Stanley McVay, Richard Jacobs, Owen Messer, Chad Harris, Scott Davis, and Luke Hope.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland on Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and until one hour prior to service time. She will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
