Thelma Ollaween Norton, 83 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Athens Health and Rehab. Mrs. Norton was born February 9, 1937 to Henry Goff and Opal King Goff.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Norton will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Sardis Springs Baptist Church with Tim Keenum and Pat Lawrence officiating. She will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Sardis Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church. She loved her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Norton is survived by her husband, Harold Norton; daughters, Joan Carruth (Billy), Dianne McMullin (Sonny) and Ramona Davidson (Bryan); sons, Phillip Norton (Teresa) and Keith Norton (Kellye); grandchildren, Sherri Sides, Chris Norton, Terry McMullin, Cari Barron, Jada Dugger, Tia Perkins, Chad Norton, Presley Adams, Dwain Norton, Angel Norton, Amanda Widner and Emily Cottles; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.
Preceded in death by her sons, Barry Lynn Norton and Terrence Norton; brothers, Josh Goff and Mack Goff; sister, June Pressnell.
Pallbearers are Phillip Norton, Chad Norton, Keith Norton, Dwain Norton, Chris Norton and Barry Goff. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Pressnell, Howard Goff, Brandon Goff, Bryan Goff and Joel Goff.
