Thelma Joyce Clayton Brown, 71, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the UT Methodist Hospital in Memphis. She was born May 5, 1945, to Jap and Rennie Mae Wallace Clayton. She retired from BancorpSouth. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she played the piano and enjoyed singing. She enjoyed going to gospel singings and singing for the residents at Golden Living Center in Tupelo. She also enjoyed doing water aerobics and playing water volleyball.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with the Rev. Danny Robbins and Bro. Cody Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery at Tilden.

Survivors include her husband, Odis Brown; her daughter, Julie Fennell (Matt) of Mantachie; two sisters, Eva Loden of Tupelo and Clara Moore of Mantachie; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Clayton of Fulton and Ellen Clayton of Mantachie; one step-son, Larry Brown (Betty) of Tupelo; one step-daughter, Pat Wright of Tupelo; several nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Oleta Haven and Christine Moore; and three brothers, Reynole Clayton, Thurman Clayton, and Trelvie Clayton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11, and from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
