The family of Theadora Dian Avner, age 29, of Decatur, will receive friends on Monday, February 7, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.
Miss Avner, who died Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital, was born September 5, 1992, in Florida, to Dr. Lillian Iris Avner. She was preceded in death by her mother, and grandparents, Louis and Dorothy Avner. She loved her children and family. She was an avid tennis player. She expressed her creativity through writing and her talent was recognized at a Hollins University writing workshop in Virginia.
She was courageous and strong. Thea was a Kidney Warrior.
She is survived by two children, Isaac and Nathan Avner of Decatur; one brother, Dan Avner (Alexis) of Downey, CA; one aunt, Marsha Dubbe of Virginia Beach, VA; and six cousins, Heather Gradine (Steven), Garrett Gradine, and McKenna Gradine, all of Chesapeake, VA, and Lisa Dubbe-Herbert (Darrel), Sophie Herbert, and Nicholas Herbert, all of Sherman Oaks, CA.
