MUSCLE SHOALS-Earlier this month,  Shoals Economic Development Authority celebrated the completion of our Speculative Hangar at the Northwest Alabama Regional Airport.  The Shoals Economic Development Authority is partnering with the Northwest Alabama Regional Airport (MSL) to kick-start the Southeastern Quadrant Development. With this combined effort, we are taking the first step to construct much needed hangar space and will market this initial hangar for aircraft MRO development.

The location of both the airport and the Shoals Research Airpark creates a perfect storm for aviation projects  For many years, the airport and The Shoals EDA have worked together to bring aerospace projects to The Shoals. Steps have been taken to combine these two assets, such as the installation of a dedicated security access gate in the southeast quadrant, the extension of utilities beyond the airport fence boundary, and building pad preparation. The hangar is now available for lease or purchase. Build-to-suit options for additional hangar space are available as there are 110 acres of developable land inside airport property.

The Shoals Economic Development Authority extended a gracious thank you to everyone and every organization involved who helped make this a reality: Northwest Alabama Regional Airport, Tennessee Valley Authority Economic Development, Governor Kay Ivey, ADECA Alabama Department of Economic And Community Affairs (Director, Kenneth Boswell), Mike Lockhart, Mayor of Muscle Shoals, CG Jones, LLC, Civil Group, Dunn Building Company, LLC the Shoals EDA Board, the Shoals Industrial Development Committee and many others including The Shoals community as a whole.

We are excited to see the future of aerospace projects here in The Shoals! Join us as we continue to journey to new heights.
