FLORENCE-For one afternoon, we are turning Norton Auditorium into a planetarium as Holst’s The Planets plays alongside breathtaking video of our solar system on a big screen. The concert will be held Sunday October 26th at 3:00PM at Norton Auditorium.
The program also includes Missy Mazzoli’s Sinfonia for Orbiting Spheres—a work that feels like it was built for outer space—and ends with John Williams’ triumphant E.T.: Flying Theme.
Featuring:
Mazzoli – Sinfonia for Orbiting Spheres
Holst – The Planets
Williams – E.T.: Flying Theme
Total program runs 70 minutes with intermission at the halfway point. The Pantes will be paired with stunning visuals, immersive lighting, and stars projected throughout Norton Auditorium.
The lobby will feature interactive activities for families before the performance. This show is fun, engaging, and designed to be a shorter, family-friendly experience. Alos experience $3 freeze-dried ice cream sandwiches for a space-age treat.
