“The Muscle Shoals Legacy of FAME”….Author Blake Ellis Book Signing At AMHOF August 29

blake-ells-famejpg-e8c821bf4247c305TUSCUMBIA-Rogersville native Blake Ells, will sign copies of his recently released book “The Muscle Shoals Legacy of FAME,” at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, Saturday August 29 at 2 p.m.
“The book explores the careers of younger Shoals area musical artists such as Jason Isbell, Chris Thompkins, John Paul White, the Secret Sisters, and others that are continuing the legacy of Muscle Shoals Music. Muscle Shoals music Rocks on!” said Dixie Griffin, Manager. “This event is exciting because not only will our guests have the opportunity to meet Blake, they will also enjoy music performed during the signing. Playing will be Blake, Doc Daily and other special guests.” said Griffin.

Ells currently works in public relations in the Birmingham area, and has been published at AL.com, Birmingham Post-Herald, Birmingham News, Weld for Birmingham, and Birmingham magazine among many others. He currently serves on the Literacy Council of Central Alabama where he previously served as chair.
The book examines the trajectory of bands like Adam’s House Cat, The Fiddleworms, Iguana Party, area musicians like Chris Quillien, Red Mouth, Mitch Mann, Shonna Tucker and others, and second generation artists such as Hanna Aldridge and Dylan LaBlanc.
It is a well done overview of the current generation of Muscle Shoals Music creators, and it is an impressive lot.
Ells is a graduate of Auburn University.
