The Alabama School of Cyber Technology (ASCTE) Opens New State-Of-The-Art Campus in Cummings Research Park

HUNTSVILLE-The Alabama School of Cyber Technology & Engineering invites the public to join local, state, and national leaders in cutting the ribbon for its new campus in Cummings Research Park on September 23rd, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Governor Kay Ivey will deliver special remarks and acknowledge the formal opening of the 26 acre campus as the first of its kind in the nation.
“We are humbled by the incredible momentum that continues to propel ASCTE forward as a national leader, preparing high school students with relevant knowledge that will reinforce our position in defense, security, and intelligence across all industries. The opening of our new campus in CRP is a multi-year collaborative effort between commercial, private, governmental, academic, and non-profit organizations. As our students walk through this state-of-the-art facility, we are optimistic that they will drive the innovation we so desperately need for a prosperous tomorrow.” – Alicia Ryan, President of The ASCTE Foundation Board & Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees.
With 255 students from 61 cities and towns across 31 Alabama counties, the ASCTE Campus boasts nearly 130,000 square feet with two distinct and unique buildings designed with collaborative learning spaces, engineering workshops, cyber ranges, an accelerator space, STEM labs, high-tech classrooms, a fitness center, a salon, student common areas, conference space, a 400-seat lecture hall, residential staff apartments, and residential suites for 150 students.
“Our Foundation has worked tirelessly to ensure that our campus is something that our State can be proud of. And here we are, with one of the most innovative high school campuses in the United States—serving some of Alabama’s most promising students,” stated Matt Massey, President of ASCTE. “Our work here is changing the landscape of higher education and industry by producing graduates prepared both in theory and practice.”

ASCTE is one of three public magnet high schools serving students throughout Alabama. It is currently the only public high school in the nation to integrate cyber technology and engineering into all academic disciplines.
ASCTE’s mission is to ensure all students achieve high levels of learning, focusing on embedding cyber protections into the engineering lifecycle.
