MSGT (ret)Terry Wayne Thomas, 69, of Toney, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023. He was born on January 25, 1954 in Chicago, IL, as oldest son to Woodrow and Lizzy Thomas. Terry was a native Choctaw.
He joined the US Army on April 1, 1971` and spent most of his career in Germany and the USA in HAWK. Terry retired as Master Sergeant on April 30, 1995 after 24 years of service. He worked for the next 22 years in Civil Service on Redstone Arsenal until his full retirement on October 31, 2017.
Terry had a large heart for all animals and built ponds for his fish and turtles. He loved to feed and watch the birds and squirrels in his backyard.
He had an amazing gift for woodworking and built most of the furniture in his home that he shared with his wife, Christa. Terry was a devoted friend that enjoyed traveling and cruising.
Terry is survived by his wife, Christa Thomas; sons, Sean Thomas and Kristopher Thomas; mother, Lizzy Thomas; brother, Michael Thomas; sisters: Debie Christenson, Donna LeGault, Dina Thomas, and Dawn McClendon; and his funny friends: Pete, Heidi and Twiggy.
Visitation will be Friday, April 28th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by service at 4:00 with Rev. Tim Cole officiating. Burial will be on a later date in Alabama National Cemetery.
