Funeral Services for Mr. Terry Morris, age 64 of Lineville, will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Olive Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at New Harmony Church Cemetery.
Mr. Morris passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Clay County Hospital. Born in Anniston, AL, he attended Lineville High School and moved to Jesup, Georgia following high school. He began his mechanical career working for Larry Laxton working on Tractors. After he married his wife, Gwen, they moved to Lineville where they haved lived for over 35 years. Terry worked with his brother Gene for Morris Logging for several years as a truck driver, and lastly worked for Anderson Trucking. Mr. Morris enjoyed tending to his Chickens, growing a luscious Garden, and working on tractors and lawn mowers in his spare time. He enjoyed going fishing and riding dirt roads with his wife, traveling to spend time with his grandchildren, and had a large collection of tractors, lawn mowers, and antique hot rod cars. Mr. Morris always kept his friends and family laughing, and enjoyed spending his time outdoors.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gwen Morris of Lineville; two Step-Sons: Michael Anthony O’Quinn (Tina) of Cleveland, TN and Ronald Aaron Rollins (Ashley) of Vidalia, GA; five grandchildren: Gayle Eisenmenger (Christian), Micheal Anthony O’Quinn II, Journey, Addison, and Brindisi Rollins; two great-grandchildren: Tinley Grace Eisenmenger and Collin Ryder O’Quinn; one sister, T.C. Johnson (Bill) of Lineville; two brothers: Wayne Morris (Debra) of Lineville and Gene Morris of Cragford, plus several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bobby and Mavis Brooks Morris.
Active Pallbearers will be Hunter Johnson, Spencer Johnson, Greg Morris, Joey Wilkerson, Patrick Green, and Kaleb Gibbons. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Willingham, Jay Jay Jerdin, and Phillip “Moho” Graben.
His visitation will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
