Terry David Sanders, 75, of Townley, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 12 until 1 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 1 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Guthrie Cemetery. Jerry White and Johnny Cooner will officiate.
Terry was a simple, humble, compassionate and loving person. He was a retired coal miner. Terry started his coal mining career as a young man at Maxine Mines. Later he worked at Gorgas # 7, then Mary Lee II and retired from Shoal Creek. Terry enjoyed crappie fishing, arrowhead hunting, studying history, and working on old cars, especially his 1964 Chevelle. He was a faithful member of Townley Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Olen Winford Sanders; grandparents, Wilford and Effie Sanders and Harless and Drucilla Hunter; nephews, Jeremiah Sanders and Jacob Sanders.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Diane Guthrie Sanders; son, Patrick Sanders (Shaylyn); mother, Christine Hunter Sanders; brothers, Mike Sanders (Lydia) and Doug Sanders (Beckie), nephews, Nathaniel Sanders (Heather) and Josh Sanders (Heather); niece, Mandy Russell (Billy) and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Corey Alexander, Calen Alexander, Landon Alexander, Josh Sanders, Jordan Davis and Billy Russell.
